SUPPORT NUMBULWAR NUMBURINDI ARTS IN OUR MISSION TO KEEP CULTURE STRONG.

Numbulwar Numburindi Arts (NNA) is more than just an art studio. It is a place for generations of Nunggayinbala people to come together, to teach the young ones and to share important cultural knowledge.

Run by Nunggayinbala people, for Nunggayinbala people, NNA:

  • Provides local employment and training opportunities;

  • Nurtures and cultivates careers in the arts through skills development and professional presentation opportunities, for creative and cultural expression, and economic empowerment of our artists;

  • Supports the preservation of long standing fibre art traditions;

  • Creates opportunities for artists and employees to connect with, and care for, land and sea Country;

  • Upholds a space for Nunggubuyu language to be spoken, recorded and shared.

Strong participation in culture and art consistently leads to social, cultural and economic empowerment, stronger community connectedness and better overall wellbeing for First Nations Australians. NNA is a central point for the preservation of culture in Numbulwar, strengthening it for the future and providing a launchpad to share Nunggayinbala culture and knowledge with the world.

Your support will allow NNA artists to reach new heights while inspiring a new generation and building a strong future for the community of Numbulwar.

Donations to NNA go a long way in supporting our various programs:

  • $50 – Essential art supplies such as tubes of paint or packets of needles.

  • $100 – A harvesting trip for pandanus, natural dyes and ghost nets.

  • $250 – Supports artists in working towards future exhibition and public program opportunities.

  • $1,000 – A skills workshop for the next generation of artists to unleash their creativity, grounded in the passing on of important cultural knowledge.

Numbulwar Numburindi Arts is a registered charity and all donations over $2 are tax-deductible.

You can also choose to support supporting specific programs at NNA. For example, we are currently seeking support for the following activities:

  • Community archive: NNA is embarking on the task of building a digital community archive to collate Numbulwar’s historical information, visual documentation, artefacts and stories for the whole community to access and enjoy.

  • Ghost net awareness: an ongoing project, NNA is continually working to communicate the important global issue of ghost nets, and its impact on sea Country and songlines, to wider audiences.

If you are not in a position to make a financial contribution, but would still like to show your support, we’d love to hear from you. We are currently looking for:

-    Secondary education providers who can help in our mission to land NNA’s weaving and ghost net resources into the curriculum across Australia.

- Anyone who has lived in Numbulwar, we’d love to hear from you.

- Would you or someone you know in retail be interested in stocking Numbulwar artworks or weaving kits?
