NGIRRIWALBUMANA MALNGUJ | We PAINT WHAT WE SEE
Ngirriwalbumana Malnguj | We Paint What We See presents the first paintings on found metal from the artists at Numbulwar. Reflecting the art centre’s ethos of caring for Country, the ever innovative Numburindi artists have transformed intriguing objects - such as discarded louvres and air conditioner parts - into canvases used to share stories of everyday life at Numbulwar.
Held at Laundry Gallery in Parap (Northern Territory), the exhibition showcases the range and diversity of creative expression at Numbulwar. The works offer an observer’s perspective on flora, fauna, sun, moon, patterns in the landscape, rhythms of the passing of time - reaffirming the unwavering connection between the artists and their Country, and the life that exists within it.
